100 YEARS OF OXFORD

In this collaborative project, we explored the future of Oxford through speculative design, imagining how the city might grow and transform over the next 100 years.

With complete creative freedom, we focused on the role of AI and urban expansion, choosing a site just outside Oxford that isn’t currently part of the city but could be in the future. Using AI-generated imagery, we visualised how this space might evolve, blending technology with imagination to create a compelling vision of what’s to come.

To reflect the theme of longevity, we laser-etched an aerial map of the area onto wood for the cover—highlighting both durability and craft. The core of the project took the form of a screen-printed calendar on acetate, with each page representing a new phase in the city’s future. As the months progress, the colours shift from muted to bright and iridescent, symbolising the increasingly artificial nature of the evolving landscape. The transparent pages create layered visuals, allowing past and future to overlap in a dynamic, thought-provoking way.

This project pushed us to think beyond the present, challenging how design can stay relevant and resonate across time.
